Histotechnician
Labcorp
Labcorp seeks a Histotechnician for its Phoenix laboratory to process tissue and body fluid specimens and prepare histopathological slides for microscopic examination. The role involves operating laboratory equipment, performing staining procedures, and maintaining quality control standards on a night shift.
Responsibilities
- Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination
- Section embedded tissue using microtome and mount sections on microscope slides
- Orient and embed surgical tissue specimens properly
- Perform routine and special staining procedures on mounted sections
- Operate, maintain, and document quality control for manual and automated instruments
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Histology or high school diploma with 1+ year histology experience
- Familiarity with routine histology procedures and laboratory equipment
- Immunohistochemistry experience
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Experience in high-volume laboratory environments
- Knowledge of laboratory SOPs and safety protocols
