Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the Cardiopulmonary / Respiratory Therapy Department. Job Type: Per Diem | Non-Exempt Location: Evanston, Illinois Pay Options Tier Level 1: $40.15/hour 3 shifts per 6‑week schedule (1 shift must be weekend) One major holiday per year Tier Level 2: $42.00/hour 6 shifts per 6‑week schedule (2 shifts must be weekend) One major holiday and one minor holiday per year Tier Level 3: $43.80/hour Ten shifts per 6‑week schedule (3 shifts must be weekend) Two major holidays and one minor holiday per year Interview within 24‑48 hours | Fast Offer Process Work in a high‑acuity, critical care environment with advanced respiratory cases Competitive pay with shift differentials Career growth within a large healthcare system Responsibilities Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management) Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high‑flow oxygen systems Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs) Implement patient‑specific respiratory care plans Document care in the EMR Respond to code blue and rapid response events Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts Qualifications Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate preferred Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred Two (2) years of acute care experience preferred The company is dedicated to empowering its staff with a comprehensive, competitive benefits package, allowing them the freedom to customize their benefits to fit their unique needs. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
