Location: Wheeling, West Virginia (Convenient driving distance to Pittsburgh, PA; Columbus, OH; and Cleveland, OH) Setting: Inpatient / Hospital (Top-Tier Healthcare Environment) Schedule: Monday – Friday | Daytime Hours (Choice of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM) Dress Code: Scrubs Position Type: Full-Time, 13 Week Contract (Travel & Local Options Available) Travel Rate: $3,000/week (includes a $1,575 non-taxed travel stipend ) + up to $350/week in qualifying additional reimbursements. Role Overview We are seeking a reliable, collaborative, and dedicated Registered Dietitian to join a highly respected healthcare team in Wheeling, WV. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based medical nutrition therapy (MNT) across a variety of acute care settings. This position is open due to recent retirements, offering a welcoming, established environment with a manageable pace ( averaging 12 patient charts per day ) utilizing the EPIC EMR system . You will also benefit from Order Writing Privileges (via approved MNT clinical protocols) to seamlessly implement interventions, adjust regimens, and work at the top of your license. Key Responsibilities Individualized Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nutrition evaluations for high-risk patients, assessing enteral/parenteral nutrition regimens, laboratory values, drug-nutrient interactions, and medical history. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Respond to provider referrals, formulate evidence-based recommendations, and communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and speech-language pathologists. Documentation & Monitoring: Maintain timely and accurate documentation in EPIC; monitor patients with prolonged inadequate oral intake, complete calorie counts, and manage metabolic data. Clinical Protocol Utilization: Leverage approved nutrition practice privileges and hospital clinical protocols to independently advance patient care plans. Mentorship (As Applicable): Guide and supervise nutritional therapy support team members and dietetic interns during their clinical rotations. Minimum Qualifications (Required) Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field. Credentials: Active Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience working within a hospital setting. Skills: Strong basic math/calculation skills, proficiency with electronic medical records (EPIC experience is a major plus), and the ability to handle shifting clinical volume. Preferred Qualifications Several years of acute care hospital experience. Strong team-player mindset with a reliable track record.
