Epic Database Administrator (New York)

Position: Epic Database Administrator

Location: Fully Remote (up to 10% travel)

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Epic Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and support enterprise healthcare database environments across on-premises, virtual, and cloud platforms. The role focuses on high availability, performance, security, disaster recovery, and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Design, install, configure, maintain, patch, and upgrade Epic database environments and related Windows applications.
Lead and coordinate the Epic ECSA/ODBA team, including project planning, mentoring, and on-call support.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance, capacity, storage, and resource utilization.
Develop and maintain backup, recovery, restoration, and high-availability solutions.
Manage database security, user access, permissions, auditing, and compliance.
Support database migrations, upgrades, daily build deployments, and environment synchronization.
Perform data extraction, loading, conversion, and integration activities.
Collaborate with Linux, Windows, Oracle, networking, SAN, storage, and application teams.
Administer SQL Server environments, including performance tuning, indexing, patching, and disaster recovery.
Maintain technical documentation, scripts, operational procedures, and version control.
Provide production support, participate in critical incident management, and coordinate 24/7 on-call rotations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.
Eight years of relevant experience, including Epic ODBA/ECSA.
Epic ODBA, ECSA, Data Courier, or Chronicles certification.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Epic Clarity certification and experience with Red Hat Linux, cloud services, storage, security, and networking.
Strong knowledge of Epic Chronicles/Cache databases, SQL Server, Windows, Linux, database performance tuning, and high availability.
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, project management, team leadership, and mentoring skills.
