Job Summary We’re looking for a Full‑Time Auditor (GS‑0511‑12) to work at Headquarters, U.S. Special Operations Command, Inspector General, Audit Division, MacDill AFB, FL. Compensation Salary Range: $89,508 – $116,362. PCS may be authorized. Position Status This position may close at any time. Qualifications and Requirements Professional comprehensive knowledge of the principles, theories, techniques, and practices of accounting, management, and auditing to independently plan and conduct evaluations of financial accounts, special access programs, and/or management operations and controls. Knowledge of current trends and developments in the auditing profession with the government, public accounting firms, and industry. Knowledge of auditing principles, standards, and methodologies (e.g., GAGAS, performance auditing techniques), agency practices, policies, and functions. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques of statistical sampling. Skill in planning and developing the audit, interpreting findings, and developing and modifying methods and techniques to resolve a variety of issues. Skill in analyzing financial and operational data to identify issues, trends, and recommendations. Skill in articulating and negotiating complex issues. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, concisely, and with accuracy and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with varying levels of supervision. Knowledge of DoD/military financial management systems, regulations, and internal controls. U.S. citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a “Top Secret” security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). This position is designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force civilian drug‑testing program. As a mandatory requirement for employment in this TDP, the incumbent is to refrain from the use of illegal drugs and, if required, submit to a urinalysis testing. The selectee must sign statements acknowledging the position is identified as a TDP. This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NOAA) 2012, Public Law 112‑81, Subtitle F‑Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program. Education requirements: per OPM guidelines. Transcripts must be included.
