Institutional Giving Manager (HC Main office)

Department: Development Reports To: Chief Development Officer / Executive Director FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Long Island City, NY Organization: Hour Children Salary: $90,000 per year Position Summary Hour Children is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Institutional Giving Manager to lead and grow the organization?s institutional fundraising efforts. This position is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding foundation, corporate, and government funding sources to support the organization?s mission and programs serving incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and their children. The Institutional Giving Manager will oversee the full grant lifecycle, including prospect research, proposal development, reporting, compliance tracking, and relationship management. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, strategic thinker, deadline-driven, and highly organized professional with experience managing multiple funding streams in a nonprofit environment. Key Responsibilities Research, identify, and evaluate prospective foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities. Develop compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, and supporting materials. Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather programmatic data, budgets, outcomes, and impact stories. Maintain a grant calendar to ensure timely submissions, renewals, and reporting deadlines. Tailor proposals to align with funder priorities while accurately reflecting organizational goals and needs. Institutional Donor Management Manage and strengthen relationships with institutional funders through regular communication and stewardship activities. Prepare grant reports, impact updates, and other donor communications in a timely and professional manner. Track funding commitments, restrictions, and compliance requirements. Assist in coordinating site visits, meetings, and presentations with institutional funders. Support the development and execution of annual institutional giving strategies and revenue goals. Monitor trends in philanthropy, nonprofit funding, and government grants. Work collaboratively with leadership to align institutional fundraising efforts with organizational priorities. Maintain accurate donor and grant records within the organization?s donor database and reporting systems. Data & Reporting Track grant outcomes, deliverables, and reporting metrics. Assist in preparing fundraising reports and dashboards for leadership and the Board of Directors. Ensure all grant documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready. Qualifications Minimum of 3?5 years of nonprofit grant writing or institutional fundraising experience. Proven track record securing foundation, corporation, and/or government funding. Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. Experience working with donor databases, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to analyze budgets and financial information related to grant proposals. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in human services, criminal justice reform, women?s services, housing, or family-focused nonprofit organizations. Familiarity with New York City and New York State funding opportunities. Experience with government contract reporting and compliance.
