Field Computer Technician for Point of Sale Industry

This role requires hands‑on technical expertise, strong problem‑solving abilities, and excellent customer service skills. The Field Technician will travel to customer sites to diagnose technical issues and ensure systems operate efficiently and securely. Key Responsibilities Travel to client locations to install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and network equipment Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues Perform system upgrades, repairs, and preventative maintenance Install operating systems, business applications, and security updates Set up and support printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other IT equipment Troubleshoot network issues including routers, switches, and wireless connectivity Provide onsite technical support and user training Document service activities, issues, and resolutions Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and equipment Ensure compliance with company IT standards and client security protocols Required Qualifications Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) Proven experience in computer repair and troubleshooting Strong knowledge of: Windows and/or macOS systems Hardware components and peripherals Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, switches) Microsoft Office and common business software Valid driver’s license Ability to travel locally to client sites Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Preferred Qualifications Industry certifications such as: CompTIA A+ Network+ Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Experience with: Remote support tools Active Directory Cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) POS systems or industry‑specific hardware Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs Ability to work in confined spaces or under desks Frequent standing, bending, and driving Work Environment Primarily onsite at customer locations Combination of office, retail, warehouse, or industrial environments May require occasional evening or weekend support Compensation & Benefits (Optional Section) Competitive hourly pay / salary Mileage reimbursement/company car used for on‑site visits Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Professional development opportunities Success Traits Problem‑solver mindset Self‑motivated Detail‑oriented Professional and customer‑focused Adaptable in fast‑paced environments #J-18808-Ljbffr Point of Sale Innovation
