POSITION OVERVIEW

MFA and AC Grand Rapids Academy are seeking a full-time Grassroots & Soccer Operations

Coordinator to help lead and grow grassroots programming, community engagement, league

operations, and coaching support across West Michigan.

This role is designed to support the continued growth of:

• MLS GO programming

• Community and inner-city initiatives

• ACGR player pathway development

• Futsal league operations

• Tournament and event execution

The ideal candidate is highly organized, passionate about soccer and community impact, and

excited to help build long-term infrastructure for the game across multiple markets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Grassroots Programming & Community

• Lead MLS GO programming in Grand Rapids, Holland, and Muskegon

• Manage registrations, scheduling, staffing, and parent communication

• Coordinate coach recruitment and support staff

• Build relationships with schools, organizations, and community partners

• Organize free camps and grassroots outreach initiatives

• Support the continued expansion of ACGR Juniors programming

Coaching Responsibilities

• Coach 2–3 soccer teams annually on the Lakeshore

• Coach corresponding futsal teams during winter season

• Support player development and pathway progression within ACGR Academy

Futsal League Operations

• Assist with youth futsal league operations

• Manage registrations, scheduling, divisions, and communication

• Coordinate with referee assignors and event staff

• Support league growth and participant experienceEvent Support

• Lead tournament and event setup/teardown operations

• Coordinate equipment and facility preparation

• Support operational execution of major MFA/ACGR events

QUALIFICATIONS

• Soccer coaching and/or soccer operations experience preferred

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

• Comfortable working evenings and weekends based on seasonal programming

• Passion for youth development, grassroots soccer, and community engagement

• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment

POSITION STRUCTURE

This role follows a seasonal workload model:

Season 

Summer 

Camps, planning, + tournaments

Fall 

Coaching + MLS GO

Winter 

MLS GO + futsal operations

Spring 

Coaching + MLS GO

COMPENSATION

• Full-time salaried position

• Target salary range: $45,000–$50,000

• Additional camp and programming opportunities available

LOCATION & SCHEDULE

• Based primarily out of the MFA/MSA office in Grand Rapids

• Coaching responsibilities primarily located on the Lakeshore

• Travel between Grand Rapids, Holland, and Muskegon required

• Evening and weekend availability required seasonally
