*Job Requirements * This role is designed for the nurse who has achieved expertise and leadership in the clinical and professional role. Leads and evaluates evidence-based practice, actively participates and/or leads organizational initiatives, mentors and coaches nurses and other disciplines, exemplifies the role of the professional nurse and demonstrates active involvement in clinical and professional nursing beyond the walls of the unit and/or organization. Utilizes the institution's care delivery and professional practice models as the frame of reference for practicing as a professional nurse. Participates in activities to develop own practice, and to support group practice goals at the unit level. Is accountable to patient, family and team members for care provided and to the nurse manager for totality of work performance. Is accountable to hold to the Service Standards and to the Nursing Mission, Vision and Values. Under limited supervision, the Specialty Team Leader is a registered nurse who provides ongoing clinical operations support for a designated specialty service within the Operating Room setting. The Specialty Team Leader works collaboratively with physicians and their offices, the perioperative leadership, other clinicians, and ancillary departments to accomplish the essential functions of the job. They assume ownership for the specialty and the service they provide, as well as, serve as a resource to other team members and staff regarding that particular specialty.
*Work Experience * III. Education & Experience 1. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.; BSN preferred. Up-to-date status on all mandatory training and classes. 2. One year nursing experience in PACU/Critical care. Solid knowledge and clinical skills. 3. Current certification, BLS, ACLS, PALS required. IV. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 1. Responsible for maintaining competencies required for the patient care setting in PACU; focus on advancing your own professional development 2. Ability to practice and adhere to the guidelines specified in the UM Shore Regional Health 3. Demonstrates highly effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. 4. Demonstrates leadership qualities through effectiveness as charge nurse, preceptor, or clinical resource. 5. Demonstrates effectiveness as a multidisciplinary team member. 6. Ability to learn and use computer systems in order to manage patient information. 7. Ability to participate in team-building efforts on units; supports and models teamwork 8. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.
