We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate registered nurses to join our team in correctional healthcare in beautiful Limon, Colorado and across the state. This is a unique opportunity to provide meaningful care to underserved populations while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.Shift: Thursday - Saturday; 0500-1700 Local and travel 13 week assignments available with hourly pay starting at $50.00 local.Key Responsibilities:Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical documentation.Provide standardized patient education in accordance with established nursing guidelines.Transcribe and communicate medical orders during shift changes.Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information.Deliver direct patient care, including physical treatments and medication administration (PO, IM, IV, SQ, SL).Collaborate with healthcare providers to implement and support individualized treatment plans.Apply infection control practices and crisis intervention techniques.Conduct patient interviews, triage assessments, and respond to urgent and emergent situations.Assist physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners with minor medical and surgical procedures.Monitor, order, and restock medications and medical supplies as needed.Observe and report patients' physical and emotional conditions, including responses to medications and treatments.Perform comprehensive physical and behavioral health assessments using established nursing protocols.Promote and uphold a safe and secure clinical environment, including careful control of medications, sharps, instruments, and other sensitive medical items.Operate clinical equipment appropriate to the assigned unit.Maintain knowledge of all applicable life safety policies and procedures.Report safety or security concerns promptly through established documentation channels.Qualifications:Minimum one full year experience as a registered nurseCorrections experience is preferred not requiredUnencumbered Colorado or Compact registered nursing licenseMust be a U.S. CitizenSuccessful completion of a thorough background check and onboarding processMust be able to complete a rigorous and physical four-day self-defense courseAbility to respond to emergency situations involving inmates and/or medical situations and make policy and profession compliant decisions.Must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to serve the population with empathy, while staying objective and assertive and be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds.Why Join Us?Competitive pay based on experienceBenefits including health, dental, vision, and annual continuing educationOpportunities to make a real impact in public healthSupportive, mission-driven teamFlexible work environments across various Colorado locationsReady to make a difference in correctional healthcare?
