Floating Teacher Assistant (Itinerant - York and Adams County) JobID: 4504 Program Student Services Description As a Teacher Assistant with the Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12, this role plays an essential part in enhancing students' educational experience by supporting instruction, helping implement lesson plans, and fostering a positive learning environment. It also helps maintain continuity in the educational program established by the teacher. Through dedication to student success and close collaboration with the teaching team, this position contributes to a dynamic and supportive learning atmosphere. This position requires reliable transportation and a willingness to support needs across counties and in any IU program classroom. Given the variety of needs of learners, a willingness to support students with behavioral and physical needs is important. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in first aid Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in CPR Must have or obtain and maintain current certificate in LIU-approved crisis management and intervention program, preferred Must obtain additional competency as mandated by PA Dept. of Education (within one year from date of hire) Must complete twenty (20) hours of professional development related to assignment each year Relevant experience working with students in an educational setting (preferred) Patience, flexibility, and positive attitude Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff Experience working with students with multiple disabilities is preferred. Candidate should be comfortable assisting with mobility, positioning, personal care, and the use of adaptive equipment, while promoting student independence and participation in daily activities. Terms of Employment Full-time, 7 hours/day, 188 days/year (follows the traditional school year schedule) Salary $18.91 per hour Benefits Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical insurance available for a nominal premium, plus free dental, and vision coverage for employees and eligible dependents.
