Structural Designer

Job Description:General Summary:The Structural Designer, with supervision from the Manager of Structural Engineering and/or a project engineer, will provide the technical, organizational and communication skills for day-to-day support. He/she will be involved in the application of engineering fundamentals to design structural framing systems or components thereof at an entry-level basis.Essential Job Functions:With direction and assistance, formulate design and/or analysis of structural framing systems and perform necessary calculationsConduct field measuring and checking at construction site to verify existing conditionsWith direction and assistance, prepare construction documents and communicate with other disciplines to produce a well-coordinated set of construction documentsWith direction and assistance, coordinate with other disciplines for clash detection and load determination.With direction and assistance, review shop-drawing submittals to assure design intent is metMaintain project files containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference material, and other itemsPerform related duties as assignedEmployment Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field requiredE.I.T preferredExperience3+ years of related experience in the structural engineering field (Master's degree, research work and internships may count towards this experience)Skills/Competencies:Analysis: Risa, RAM, ETABS, and SAP2000 preferredDrafting: Bluebeam and Revit modeling preferredAbout UsAt Ghafari Associates, we don’t just design buildings—we help shape the future of the industries we serve.
