And it’s your chance to really shine and contribute to one of the world’s most recognized brands and a beacon for engineering excellence.Position SummaryTo provide world-class technical support for in-service/delivered products and to influence maturity throughout the product life cycle to meet customer and business needs, ensuring Design Intent is met and to ensure the safe, reliable and cost-effective product attributes are defined and maintained by means of life modelling of product reliability, deterioration mechanisms, costs and help implement robust & cost-effective solutions.What you will be doingManagement of known and potential safety issues (SAR & RT) and appropriate involvement in safety boards as defined in Safety Management Plan.Provide technical support to help resolve technical queries and operational arisings- Lead Investigation of operational issues to establish root causesIntroduce containment actions and recommend corrective actionsProvide technical surveillance and quality assurance audits to support continuous product enhancement for customer satisfaction and business expectations.Develop and approve the technical content of technical publications/communications (used by OEM, build/commissioning/maintenance bases and customers) including acceptance limit development.Set reliability targets (such operational disruption metrics) based on historical data and monitor performance against targets.Predict future safety and reliability performance based on failure rates, adopting statistical techniques to support Numerical Risk Assessment, Parametric Distribution and fly forward analysis.Identify cost reduction opportunities by reviewing and maintaining life cycle engineering policies and any associated maintenance planning documentation.Manage any issues that affect Maturity, Lifecycle Cost, Reliability and Maintainability and maintain Design Intent.Provide lifecycle technical data (build/in-service/decommissioning) and model/support modelling of through life performance, deterioration mechanisms and service attributes to create and maintain time on platform prediction, identify opportunities for optimization and support the generation of the Service Operation Validation Strategy.Prepare and deliver technical communications (e.g. presentation and/or reports) to platform providers, regulators, customers, internal stakeholders.Lead and integrate Health Monitoring system requirements.Identify requirements for new Health Monitoring System or capability.Ensure compliance with requirements specified by regulatory authorities and adhere to technical and business requirements of internal & external stakeholders. Where delegated, act as the Technical Authority providing assurance on building, commissioning and maintenance activities.Gather in-service data and carry out continuous improvement by identifying Best Practice and Learning from Experience activities, feeding back into future programs and product design teams.Basic Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience, ORMaster's degree in Engineering, ORJD/PhDMust be a U.S. Citizen to be considered for this roleWillingness to travel infrequently on a scheduled and unscheduled basis.Preferred Requirements:Experience and demonstrated capability in root cause investigation, including evidence-based methodsExperience in safety investigations (Red Tops) involving Rolls-Royce products.Experience and knowledge of BR700-Series product lineBreadth of gas turbine engineering experience across engineering functions: design, performance, validation/verification, customer application, certification/qualification, maintenance & overhaul, repair, field service, etc.Proven ability to exercise sound technical and business judgement.Knowledge of components/ systems functionality and numerical methodsExperience in support/lead cross-functional teams e.g. specialists, suppliers, customers, partnersOur vision is to ensure that the quality and dynamism that shaped our history continues into our future.
