Job Overview - School Paraprofessional
Compensation: $22 - $23.70/hour
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem (School Schedule)


TAG MedStaffing is hiring School Paraprofessionals in Bronx, NY to support students in K-12 classroom settings for the upcoming school year. This school-based role focuses on providing 1:1 student support, small group assistance, and teacher aide support for students with academic, behavioral, developmental, and special education needs. You will assist teachers with classroom routines, reinforce student engagement, and help maintain a structured, supportive learning environment throughout the school day.

Responsibilities as the School Paraprofessional:

• Student Support: Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to students with academic, behavioral, developmental, or special education needs.
• Classroom Assistance: Support teachers with daily classroom routines, instructional activities, transitions, and student supervision.
• Behavioral Support: Assist with behavior management strategies, positive reinforcement, and intervention plans in a structured school environment.
• Student Engagement: Encourage participation, focus, communication, and positive peer interaction throughout the school day.
• Documentation & Communication: Track student progress, report updates to teachers and school staff, and follow school-based support plans as directed.

Qualifications for the School Paraprofessional:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification: New York State Paraprofessional certification or eligibility is strongly preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience working with children, students with disabilities, special education populations, or behavioral support needs is preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with classroom environments, IEP support, behavioral strategies, and student engagement techniques is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Ability to follow instructional plans, document student progress, and communicate updates using basic tools is required.
• Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates patience, reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to support students in a structured K-12 school setting.
