Nursing Professional Development Practitioner

Overview This Nursing Professional Development Practitioner position supports nursing education, training, and competency needs for the Seattle Children’s Fetal Medicine program and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) facilitation. Preferred: minimum 3 years labor and delivery experience, experience building new programs, and program and project management experience. Responsibilities Adhere to nursing professional development core competencies defined by ANPD. Support the transition of nurses and team members through onboarding, orientation, competency management, and role development. Use educational design processes to address knowledge, skill, and practice gaps at individual and team levels. Evaluate clinical and professional performance and provide coaching with unit or department leaders. Lead continuous process improvement and support program development aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. Collaborate to advance nursing quality, patient safety, and health equity within defined patient populations. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing. Minimum three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in a related specialty. Experience with education, professional development, or teaching in a clinical learning environment. Required Credentials Current Washington State RN License. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Pediatric Emergency, Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) accepted in lieu of BLS. PEARS, PALS, or NRP instructor certification within 12 months. National certification in a clinical specialty area obtained within 3 years. For RN’s performing moderately complex point‑of‑care testing, a copy of a diploma or transcript of the highest level of academic achievement must be on record with Human Resources upon hire. For personnel trained outside of the U.S., records of diploma/transcript must provide documented equivalency evaluation by a foreign credentialing agency. Preferred Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field. Leadership experience. Demonstrated experience in clinical education program development. Experience with continuous quality improvement processes. National certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD‑BC). Compensation Range $118,174.00 – $177,262.00 per year. Compensation is calculated based on full‑time employment (2080 hours per year) and may vary by equity, skills, experience, and expertise.
