RN - Urology (Clinic)

Overview $5,000 sign‑on bonus and $5,000 relocation (for >100 miles) or $2,500 relocation (for >50 miles) for nurses with 1+ years experience. External applicants only. The Urology RN role focuses on patient education, triage, care coordination, and office‑based procedures such as cystoscopy, biopsy and bladder cancer treatment. Qualifications Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire – American Heart Association. Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Other Knowledge & Skills: proficient with urinary catheter insertion and changes, specimen collection and processing; assessment of surgical wounds and dressing changes including suture or staple removal. Responsibilities Provide and facilitate competent health care of patients and families in the area of practice. Ensure adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice. Maintain complete and accurate documentation of care. Provide health and wellness education to individuals and groups. Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and healthcare students. Provide leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes. Assist the Nursing Supervisor/Coordinator in developing departmental standing orders. Provide pre‑operative education to surgical patients, including verbal instruction, appropriate printed education and documentation. Assist physicians with office‑based procedures. Perform telephone triage of urology patients and collaborate with the medical team to determine and execute a plan of care. Collaborate with other departments and disciplines to direct care and interventions for urology patients. Perform urinary catheter insertion, changes and process patient specimens accurately. Assess surgical wounds and perform appropriate dressing changes, including suture or staple removal. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range is $30.39–$52.27 per hour, representing a good‑faith minimum and maximum.
