Job Summary
Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a healthcare facility in a hospital setting. This position involves decontaminating, processing, assembling, sterilizing, and storing surgical instrumentation and medical equipment. The role requires rotation through various Central Sterile Supply areas and adherence to strict sterilization protocols. The position is scheduled for dayshift hours, beginning at 9:00 AM, with potential for weekends on call and holiday coverage.

Job Details

• Schedule: 8-hour days, start time at 9:00 AM, with at least 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: 4-5 years of experience in a hospital environment involved in sterilization, decontamination, processing, assembly, storage, and distribution of surgical instrumentation, supplies, devices, and equipment. Capable of operating Olympus OER washers. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CR-CST) or Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBSPD) certification required. Must be able to pick case carts and work effectively as part of a team.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience is preferred but not required.
• Additional Information: The position requires working in the Central Sterile Supply department, including rotation across all related areas. Mandatory emergency staffing, overtime, and floating within 30 miles of the original assignment may be required. Candidates must be able to identify instruments, work while standing, and comply with vaccination policies including COVID-19 and influenza vaccines.
