Full Time Clerical Atlanta, GA, US Telgian Engineering & Consulting is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the Company's accounting and financial reporting functions. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, and supporting the Controller with month‑end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and hands‑on accounting professional who is comfortable working in a growing, multi‑office organization and enjoys improving processes, solving problems, and partnering with leaders across the business. Responsibilities Assist the Vice President of Finance/Controller with the oversight of the Company's accounting and finance operations. Lead the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Assist in analyzing financial results, identifying variances, and communicating key findings to the Controller and other leaders. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cash management, and general ledger activities as needed. Support the Project and Senior Project Accountants on issues that arise with project accounting. Monitor and maintain accurate account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies. Assist with the preparation of project budgets, project forecasts, and financial projections. Support the Controller with audit, tax, and other external reporting requirements. Help ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles, Company policies, and internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting. Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. Partner with operational and department leaders to provide project financial information and support business decision‑making. Provide guidance and support to accounting team members and assist with the development of team processes and procedures. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned. Your Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 5+ years of project accounting/job costing experience, required. CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred. Experience in a corporate accounting environment; experience in a professional services or project‑based organization preferred. Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Experience with month‑end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Deltek Vantagepoint. Experience supervising or mentoring accounting team members preferred. Experience in a professional services, engineering, consulting, or project‑based organization.
