Accounting Services Specialist - Columbus, OH

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for an Accounting Services Specialist for our Columbus, Ohio location. Responsibilities Assist with daily administrative tasks associated with new account creation and maintenance, sales tax, accounts payable, and address validations. Provide exceptional service to customers, sales representatives, and internal staff. Contact sales representatives to obtain missing new account details to ensure accurate customer account records. Efficiently set up new accounts. Professionally handle calls and voicemail. Assist with tax certificate requests and preparation of sales tax audit requests as needed. Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth processes. Interact with customers, sales reps, and internal associates to resolve discrepancies, answer inquiries, and maintain positive relationships. Qualifications High school diploma or GED or equivalent; some college is preferred. General business experience preferred. Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles preferred. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and managers; in written and verbal form. Ability to handle confidential information and use discretion while performing job tasks. Computer literacy – specifically Microsoft Office and Excel. Ability to read and write small letters and numbers, make arithmetic calculations, and understand written and oral instructions. Dependable (reports to work daily barring unforeseen circumstances). Successful completion of a ninety (90) day orientation period.
