Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table, using supportive devices to obtain precise patient position and following protocols specified by the radiologist. Administers radioisotopes under the supervision of the Radiologist. Reviews patient's medical history and pending procedure to provide the best imaging outcomes. Provides excellent communication skills to the patient before, during and after the procedure. Takes an active role in radiation reduction for the safety of both the patient and the employee. Responsible for Preparing and administering radioactive drugs (radiopharmaceuticals) for diagnosis and treatment2. Responsible for operating imaging equipment to produce detailed fused scans of specific areas of the body3. Well versed in Providing more complex technical care to ensure high quality images4. Must be able to Perform efficiently in emergency situations5. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills6. Will be responsible for all QA for regulatory and system requirements7. Will participate in accrediting agency and regulatory inspections8. Must be well versed in the National Patient Safety Goals as set forth by the Joint Commission and NYSDOH as it relates to patient safety including but not limited to patient double identifier, infection control prevention, proper medication management and radiation safety management9. Will be responsible for order management of all supplies and radionuclides10.
