Project Specialist

Overview Position: Project Specialist, Student Programs division. The ideal candidate would have Excel proficiency, experience with data import and support services related to truancy for school programs. The Project Specialist collaborates with a variety of school and agency staff to develop systems, procedures, materials, and supports to help the Alameda County Office of Education meet its goals. Experience in schools with attendance reporting systems and working with student populations is highly desired. The Project Specialist facilitates continuous improvement in assigned areas, including troubleshooting, planning, documenting, and training to ensure project requirements are fulfilled and implemented. Immediate Supervisor: Lucia Moritz, Deputy Chief School Programs Responsibilities Problem solving to analyze issues and create action plans. Work with data sets that frequently require independent interpretation of guidelines. Develop formats, processes, procedures, and systems for implementing and monitoring assigned projects. Prioritize incoming projects and assist with developing project deliverables. Oversee follow-up on project deliverables to ensure timelines are met. Assist in the development of communications and reporting in assigned areas. Organize and facilitate committees and task forces of diverse membership. Plan and coordinate strategic agendas for ongoing meetings and special events. Conduct workshops and/or teach classes to provide information regarding project components and implement project goals. See full job description for more information. Minimum Qualifications Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of job-related experience in professional project management support is required. Experience in a school setting or public educational agency is preferred. Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience.
