As a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate at Phoenix House, you will guide and help clients make better decisions, provide continuing care services post‑discharge, and model coping skills. Encourage clients to attend treatment or other health‑care services. Engage individuals in continuing care services post‑discharge. Develop treatment and recovery plans. Raise awareness of existing social and other support services. Model coping skills. Assist with applying for benefits. Accompany clients to court appearances and medical or other appointments. Provide non‑clinical crisis support, especially after periods of hospitalization or incarceration. Work with participants to identify strengths. Link participants to formal recovery supports. Educate program participants about various modes of recovery. Train participants for independent use of public transportation. Educate and support on the use of medication‑assisted treatment. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Licenses/Certifications: Recovery Peer Advocate Certification (CRPA) in good standing Experience: Minimum one year providing peer support services Competencies Ethical Practices Judgment Relationship Management Emotional Intelligence Empathy Professional Boundaries Global and Cultural Awareness Problem Solving Communication Teamwork Crisis Management Technical Capacity Work Environment This position operates in an indoor office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
