Security Officer

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital.

The Facilities Services Department provides security, telecommunications, housekeeping, maintenance and engineering services for the campus. The various departments work in partnership to ensure the campus, including all of its buildings, parking lots/garages, patient care and common areas are well maintained, clean, attractive, and secure.

Role Purpose

Completes in-depth investigations and security surveys. Implements strategies that minimize recurring incidents. Completes follow-up and documentation of all incidents, i.e., crimes against persons, crimes against property, policy violations, safety issues, etc.

Responsibilities

• Individuals must be 21 years or older to work in this position.
• Completes in-depth investigations and security surveys.
• Provides training to the security department on topics assigned by the manager.
• Develops training materials regarding security specific topics for various audiences.
• Ensures equipment issued and used during the execution of duties is properly maintained.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: 2-5 years
• Supervisor Experience: No Experience
• Licenses & Certifications: Applicable govt regulations, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Valid Driver's License, IAHSS, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, PPCT, PD - PSAL- Where Applicable

Preferred Requirements

• Education: Associate's Degree
• Licenses & Certifications: ASP Baton Certification
