About the Position

Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification, GRH CPI/MOAB Must-Have: - Must have recent experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months - Must have EPIC EMR experience - Must be willing to float to various units Description: These positions will provide support for the unit during surge. The traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A basic dysrhythmia test out will be given during the assignment. This test must be passed in order to work in this float pool. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Care coordination with other health team members is essential. The candidate will effectively interact with patients and significant others while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. High-quality care will be provided to various patient populations, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, psychiatric, and telemetry. ACLS certification is required. The estimated work week consists of 36 hours with the possibility of additional shifts. The traveler will rotate weekends and holidays as required. The candidate will be required to float to units within scope and may be asked to float to other campuses at times. Floating may include non-critical care inpatient units, including behavioral health and the emergency department for boarded patients. If the traveler has critical care experience, they may be floated to critical care units. Telemetry ratios currently are 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Med/Surg ratios currently are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. While the traveler will not be part of a regular call rotation, they may be placed on call during periods of low census. If called in, the traveler is expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour.
