Burleigh County Human Service Zone is hiring a Child Welfare Program Manager in Bismarck, North Dakota

Burleigh County Human Service Zone is seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Welfare Program Manager for the Child and Family Services Team. Our mission is to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and families in our community by providing quality services, advocacy, resources, and education while promoting stability and community connections.

Child Welfare Program Manager duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide oversight, monitoring, and operational program support to ensure successful delivery of programs and services
• Responsible for program monitoring, reporting, and policy compliance with a focus on quality assurance and performance improvement
• Maintain a detailed level of knowledge of program and administrative policies and procedures for implementation of practices in support of agency goals and objectives
• Handle highly complex and sensitive responsibilities requiring expertise in safety framework practices and the interpretation of complex state and federal laws, rules, and other program regulations
• Provide direct and indirect supervision, training, support, and guidance to department supervisors and team members
• Develop and maintain a high-performance culture that drives growth, engagement, accountability, and collaboration
• Provide public outreach, collaboration, and agency representation with community and partner agencies, members of the public, and other stakeholders
• Maintain flexibility to support emergency response activities as necessary

To succeed in this position, you must be a detail-oriented leader, bringing strong communication skills, sound decision-making, and a high degree of professionalism to your role. You must be highly organized and skilled in prioritizing multiple responsibilities with a team-orientated approach to serving others. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of program policies, laws, and service practices.

To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, behavioral health, applied behavior analysis, nursing (bachelor level degree) or criminal justice.

Candidates must have five (5) years of professional work experience in a health or human service program area with at least three (3) years of lead work experience or the direct supervision of staff. A master's degree may substitute for one (1) year of the professional work experience requirement

The successful applicant must complete Child Welfare certification.

The successful applicant must pass a standard background, motor vehicle, and criminal record check and must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
