Aide, Extended Care

Job Summary

The Extended Care Aide assists in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for students participating in before-school and/or after-school care programs. The aide supports the mission and values of the Catholic school by promoting Christian behavior, supervising students, and facilitating age-appropriate activities that contribute to students' social, emotional, and spiritual development.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise students during extended care hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Assist with planning and leading recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
• Monitor student behavior and encourage respectful interactions consistent with Catholic values.
• Support students with homework and academic activities as needed.
• Maintain attendance records and ensure proper student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
• Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school administration regarding student needs and concerns.
• Assist with snack distribution and maintain a clean, organized environment.
• Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
• Participate in prayer and support the faith-based mission of the school.
• Report accidents, incidents, or behavioral concerns to the Extended Care Director or school administration.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education, child development, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or recreational setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to supervise and engage groups of children effectively.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Supportive of the mission and values of Catholic education.
