Carter Machinery Location: Baltimore - Pulaski Hwy. | Rosedale, MD 21237, USA Category: Inside Sales Schedule: Full Time Job Summary Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring an Inside Sales Representative for their Rental Division in Baltimore, Maryland. The Rental Inside Sales Representative manages incoming rental portal inquiries and makes outbound calls to customers seeking rental sales opportunities, ensuring each customer receives fast, professional service. The role works closely with Territory Sales Representatives and local store teams to satisfy leads and customer inquiries, and is critical to achieving acceptable sales and profit levels. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (required) Experience in the equipment rental industry and knowledge of equipment applications (preferred) Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision Exceptional customer satisfaction skills and the ability to build solid relationships Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills Technical aptitude and understanding of effective sales techniques Computer skills including Microsoft products and other applications; ability to learn Caterpillar’s "Dealer Business System" (DBS) and related rental software programs Willingness to work additional hours to meet customer and business demands Ability to multitask, maintain good organizational skills, and prioritize tasks with competing demands Capacity to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment Promotes a positive customer experience Upholds the Core Values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, and Teamwork by embracing The Carter Way Physical Requirements Must regularly sit and talk or hear; frequently stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Requires close and distance vision; ability to adjust focus. Compensation Starting Compensation Range: $35.46 – $44.57 per hour. Actual base pay may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other business needs. Total compensation may include participation in performance-based incentive programs.
