Salary Range: $69,152.00 - $123,921.00 annually + bonus + benefits. Pay Type: Salary Location: Columbus, Ohio corporate location. Hybrid schedule required; candidate must reside within reasonable commute. Encova Insurance has an immediate opening for a Claims Business Analyst. We consider multiple seniority levels; compensation covers all levels. Claims Business Analyst II Minimum 2 years experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter, 2 years commercial coverage experience, 2 years claims business process experience, and Guidewire Certified Associate certification. Claims Business Analyst III Minimum 3 years experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter, 3 years commercial coverage experience, 3 years claims business process experience, Guidewire Certified Associate certification, and experience with Cloud Integration Framework implementations or support. Job Objective Serve as a liaison between the business groups and IT, formulating and defining requirements based on user needs and understanding applicable business systems. Work closely with business partners to enable business success through IT solutions. Essential Functions Business Requirement Documentation Work with business representatives to define and document problems. Analyze problems and recommend solution alternatives. Create functional specifications. Facilitate understanding, clarification, and implementation for IT. Serve as SME for one discipline within Encova Product. System Development Life Cycle Demonstrate working knowledge of SDLC and associated tools. Application Incident Management Validate incidents against business requirement documentation. Review application incidents to determine root cause. Propose, document, and implement acceptable workarounds. Collaborate with business partners for approval on workarounds. Quality Assurance Testing Collaborate with QA analysts to develop test plans and test cases. Execute test case scenarios and document results. Project Management Demonstrate working knowledge of project management methodology and tools. Complete all project tasks per timeline. Assist on small projects no larger than 2 months with up to 1 Agile Development Team. Other Functions Apply division and department standards. Available for on‑call production problem resolution. Maintain development of IT concepts and fundamentals. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving Ability to elicit, decipher, and document technology needs. Creative Thinking Look at stakeholders' needs from different perspectives and communicate effectively. Industry/IT Knowledge Understand Encova products and IT SDLC impact. Facilitation & Negotiation Moderate group discussions and guide participants' ideas. Apply appropriate processes for audience. Oral and Written Communication Express ideas clearly and professionally. Active listening to understand stakeholders. Lead demos and communicate enhancements to business areas. Experience and Skills Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business or related field, OR equivalent 3 years IT or insurance experience. 1 year experience as a Business Analyst, including: Requirements development Test case development SDLC monitoring Preferred: At least 3 years Business Analyst experience.
