Job Title: RN Circulator Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30-17:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: TN RN license Certifications: BLS required, CST preferred Must-Have: Must have scrub technician certification BLS certification Description: This position entails working in a surgical department with 5 operating rooms and 1 cystoscopy room. Typically, 4 to 5 operating rooms are run each day. The unit does not have a specific patient ratio. The staffing includes a daily board runner, one circulator, one scrub, and one first assistant assigned to each room. Total joint procedures may require an additional scrub or first assistant. Experience with orthopedic and spine procedures is preferred, as these are the primary service lines. Other specialties include general, vascular, urology, gynecology, neuro, ENT, podiatry, bariatric, and robotic services. The documentation system in use is Meditech. The position requires full-time hours with 1 to 2 late shifts each week. Call is on a rotating weekend basis. Floating is typically not practiced; however, opportunities may arise in other areas within surgical services in the event of low volume. Advanced skills in the listed service lines are preferred. Certifications required include BLS. Scrubs will be provided. Additional information regarding unit-specific guidelines and policies will be available.
