Registered Behavior Technician

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

ESS is seeking a qualified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students with behavioral, academic, and functional needs in a school-based setting. The RBT will work under the direct supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and in collaboration with the special services team to implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies, behavior intervention plans, and skill acquisition programs.

Responsibilities:

• Fulfill all duties expected of paraprofessionals in accordance with district and school guidelines
• Collaborate and work under the guidance of a BCBA and/or Director of Special Services
• Implement individualized behavior intervention and skill acquisition plans using evidence-based ABA strategies
• Accurately collect and record student data as directed by the BCBA
• Support students with behavioral regulation, academic engagement, and daily life skills development
• Maintain certification and ongoing training as required by the BACB and the school district
• Understand and follow all safety, confidentiality, and security protocols within the school environment
• Participate in in-service training and professional development sessions
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervising staff or administrators

Qualifications:

• Must meet one of the following (per district policy):
• 60+ college credits in education or a related field
• Passing score on the Praxis ParaPro Assessment with a High School Diploma
• Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
• Demonstrated experience working with children, preferably in educational or behavioral support settings
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively in English with students, families, and school staff
• Knowledge of disabilities and best practices in special education
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Thoroughly trained, qualified, and capable of meeting the physical and emotional demands of the role
• Negative tuberculosis test required prior to start of employment

Work Settings May Include:

• 1:1 student support for behavior, academic, or physical needs including transitions, toileting, feeding, and other personal care assistance
• Self-contained classrooms , providing support to the teacher and students across instructional and behavioral tasks
• Pull-Out Resource (POR) settings , offering academic and behavioral assistance during small group instruction
• Inclusion/ICR (In-Class Resource) environments , helping students participate meaningfully in the general education classroom
