Registered Nurse - Clinical Decision Unit

Location: Asheville, NC

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Job Description: The Clinical Decision Unit is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. We aim to receive admitted patients from the Emergency Department, perform Admission Assessments, conduct Medication Reconciliation, and initiate acute care orders efficiently to enhance patient throughput and experience. Our unit handles a diverse range of diagnoses, ensuring a dynamic work setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough admission assessments for incoming patients.
• Perform medication reconciliation in accordance with safety protocols.
• Initiate and carry out acute care orders as directed by the healthcare team.
• Maintain effective communication with patients and families regarding care plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient transitions.
• Participate in unit activities aimed at enhancing throughput and optimizing patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry, or Step-Down/PCU nursing is preferred.
• Must possess current RN licensure and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to consider is appreciated.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.
