RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work in a 14-bed overflow unit accommodating ED boarder patients in a med/surg telemetry setting
• Flex space within GI Endoscopy area where patient census may vary based on demand
• Patient ratios: 5:1 during days, 7:1 during nights
• Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required with 4 weekend shifts per contract
• Float required to ED holding patients
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Must have mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement
• Care for adult and geriatric patients
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Essential skills: MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• NY license required in hand to submit
• Dress code: Navy blue/white scrubs
• Candidates within 75 miles of facility not accepted
• Block schedule accommodation possible but not guaranteed
• Pre-start modules required (up to 5 billable hours)

This healthcare facility operates a specialized overflow unit designed to accommodate emergency department boarder patients requiring medical-surgical telemetry care. The facility features interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, pharmacy, and transportation. The organization maintains high standards for nursing competencies and utilizes EPIC charting systems throughout their operations.
