In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with supervising SLPs and educational staff, using your expertise to help students overcome communication barriers and thrive in a supportive, structured environment. Your skills with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices will empower students who need additional resources to express themselves and participate fully in their education.

Qualifications:

• Valid SLPA license or certification
• Experience working in both school and healthcare settings
• Direct AAC experience required
• Previous caseloads with behavioral or alternative school populations is highly valued
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
• Compassion and adaptability in fast-paced or challenging environments

Key responsibilities:

• Implement speech and language therapy goals as outlined by supervising SLP
• Support students using various AAC devices and communication tools
• Work 1:1 and in small groups with a behavioral caseload
• Document ongoing progress and participate in IEP meetings as requested
• Collaborate with teachers and behavioral specialists to foster positive outcomes
• Provide a safe, respectful, and supportive atmosphere for all students
