The Machine Shop Manager will oversee a medium-sized team (6-15 members) to ensure efficient operation of the shop. This role involves hands-on management with a focus on maintaining high production standards, scheduling, quality assurance, and safety. The manager will also be responsible for both preventive and reactive equipment maintenance to support continuous operations and optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a medium team of machine shop personnel
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet deadlines
- Ensure quality assurance standards are consistently met
- Control and maintain inventory levels of materials and supplies
- Manage safety protocols and maintain compliance with regulations
- Oversee both preventive and reactive maintenance of equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in machine shop operations
- Proficiency in CNC machining and metal fabrication
- Strong background in quality control and inventory management
- Proven team leadership and problem-solving skills
