Housing Coordinator
As the Housing Coordinator at Under Canvas, you are the point person for overseeing on-site employee housing assignments and accommodations. You will partner closely with the General Managers, the Facilities crew, and our team members to ensure our housing units are well-maintained and that room assignments are appropriately coordinated throughout the season. You will drive a company vehicle (generally a van) and create a comfortable and clean transportation environment.
This is a seasonal, hourly position and includes the option of team member housing for the duration of your employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain composure, take action, and remain resourceful and solutions-minded in unpredictable situations, including weather conditions, diverse team member needs, and property incidents.
- Demonstrate empathy and provide consistent, timely communication regarding housing assignments and shuttle services.
- Prioritize and deliver critical, accurate, and relevant information to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Serve as an active listener, relationship builder, and approachable team member.
- Develop and distribute a Housing Booklet outlining housing expectations, communication channels, and property information.
- Proactively coordinate housing assignments for team members throughout the season, beginning in mid-April.
- Ensure housing units are clean, fully prepared, operational, and welcoming prior to team member arrival.
- Follow through on commitments and take ownership of resolving issues as they arise.
- Identify and address housing maintenance needs.
- Develop and manage a shuttle schedule that includes laundry trips, grocery runs, and recreational outings, including National Park exploration trips.
- Assist with housing and facility maintenance tasks and ensure follow-up until completion.
- Transport team members to and from stores several times per week.
- Conduct regular housing inspections with a focus on team member well-being and safety.
- Manage the employee housing budget efficiently and responsibly.
- Ensure the shuttle vehicle remains clean, safe, and in good working condition.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across all departments.
- Support camp operations by assisting in other hospitality departments as business needs require.
- Schedule and execute weekly housing inspections.
- Adhere to established schedules and operational expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Minimum of one year of project management or project coordination experience.
- Property management, housing, facilities, or maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize competing responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Solutions-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Additional Information
- This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment, when applicable.
- This position requires the individual to independently lift a minimum of 45 pounds.
- Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and maneuvering in an outdoor environment on uneven surfaces.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including, but not limited to, heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind.
- This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check and/or motor vehicle records check, if requested by Under Canvas.
