Job Summary:

A Registered Nurse can independently plan and implement routine nursing care in predictable situations using standards and knowledge obtained during education and preceptorship.

A Registered Nurse II's begin to assume leadership responsibility and need minimal supervision. An RN II has the ability to use accurate, clear, and concise oral and written communication. RN IIs will work as a team and maintain effective working relationships, use critical thinking skills, analyze, and communicate findings effectively. Incumbents require a basic computer literacy and the ability to effectively learn new software programs is required, as well as the ability to efficiently operate a variety of automated office equipment such as print/copy/scan/fax machines/calculators/etc.

A Registered Nurse (RN) III is an advanced level who is assigned at least one float area and renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet the patients physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural, and educational needs. RN III provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure.
The RN functions under the oversight and direction of the Nursing Supervisor. Independently plans and implements routine nursing care in assigned department. Needs minimal supervision. Rapid Response Team and Code Team responder. Float pool Staff may cover ED, CCU, Med/Surg, MHU, and OB.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program. BSN preferred.
• License(s): Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS), T E A M training within 90 days.
• Experience(s):
  • RN I: New graduate RNs or RNs with less than one (1) year current acute care or comparable experience, or RN with no nursing experience in the past five (5) years. New graduates will remain at the RN I level for a minimum of six (6) months after the completion of their preceptee program and must promote to an RN II within 18 months of hire.
  • RN II: Advancement from an RN I or at least one (1) year, continuous experience in a comparable patient care setting. RNs must remain at this level for a minimum of one year before applying for advancement.
    
    
  • RN III: Three (3) years of current clinical experience. (*Current indicates experience within the last five years from time of application) or, One (1) year of experience as a Bartlett RN II. Proficient clinical competency in primary specialty and a minimum of experience in one (1) float area required when promoting.
    
    

Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.

Bartlett Regional Hospital is licensed for a total of 57 inpatient beds and 16 residential substance-abuse treatment facility beds in the Rainforest Recovery Center.
