EMT - PRN Tulsa, OK, US Salary Range: $20.00 To $26.00 Hourly Position Summary This is a PRN (as-needed) position. Open to paramedics as well. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will be responsible for providing emergency medical and trauma care to patients in various settings. Perform triage and provide urgent care to patients. Deliver high-quality patient care in line with established protocols. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one-on-one patient care while thriving in a fast-paced environment ensuring every patient is treated with quality clinical care and is provided a welcoming and respectful experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities May perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing – training provided Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and any mandatory or voluntary ancillary testing such as vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, pulmonary function tests, audiogram testing and respirator fit testing May be required to perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.) – training provided Determine nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first‑aid procedures or need for additional assistance, basing decisions on statements of persons involved, patient examination, and knowledge of emergency medical practice Perform routine medical procedures ordered by the treating clinician and triage emergent patients as needed Assist clients with case‑management of injuries and follow‑up care Work independently, perform well under pressure, and make quick decisions Dispense medications and durable medical equipment (DME) as ordered by the treating clinician in accordance with state regulations and standing orders Administer prescribed first‑aid treatment, including splints, oxygen or intravenous injections, treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, or artificial resuscitation Communicate with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and arrange for reception of patients Conduct quality‑assurance activities on equipment and medical devices and testing processes used in the center Maintain supplies, clean equipment, and keep the onsite clinic clean Complete applicable training, including monthly clinical competency training Operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record‑keeping Notify supervisor immediately if equipment malfunctions, supplies are needed, or the facility is not operating as expected Keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules Attend client safety team meetings or huddles as required Assist clients with wellness activities Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills Education and Credentials High School Diploma or GED required. Degree must be from an accredited college or university. Certification as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced EMT CPR/First‑Aid Certification Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, and Hair and Oral Fluids Collection certifications – a plus OSHA safety certifications or experience – a plus ARC/CPR Instructor certification – a plus Must meet state credential requirements and applicable regulations Experience in lieu of required education is acceptable. Continuing education is required to maintain license and perform job duties. Customarily requires at least 3 years of experience, including 911 experience; fire‑fighter experience is a plus.
