Title: Oracle DBA - Albany, NY - 24 Months - # K18251/300755 Location: Albany, NY Duration: 24 Months The NYEIS Project is nearly complete in the initial implementation of a new web‑client‑based application to address the Early Intervention Program’s (EIP’s) functions of child referral and intake, case management, developmental evaluations, service planning, service delivery, service provider claiming, service provider payment, 3rd‑party insurance claiming (commercial and Medicaid), state vouchering, provider application and approval, reporting, auditing, and compliance with Federal and State requirements. NYEIS began the statewide rollout in September 2010, launching Albany and Clinton municipalities along with their associated Early Intervention service providers. As of April 2012, NYEIS has been implemented with 60 of 62 municipalities and their associated service providers, including the five boroughs and central office of New York City (NYC). Responsibilities Installing, upgrading, and patching Oracle Database software in an IBM AIX environment. Designing databases—including identifying requirements, creating the logical and physical database designs. Creating Oracle databases. Developing and testing backup and recovery strategies; backing up databases regularly and recovering them in case of failures. Configuring the network environment to enable client connectivity to databases. Starting up and shutting down the database. Managing storage, users, security, and database objects such as tables, indexes, and views. Monitoring and tuning database performance. Gathering diagnostic data and reporting critical database errors to Oracle Support Services. Evaluating and testing new database features. Creating and maintaining documentation related to all tasks and providing mentoring/knowledge transfer to other staff as necessary. Qualifications At least 84 months experience as an Oracle database administrator installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle 10g or later with RAC in a UNIX‑like environment (AIX). Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle 10g or later with ASM in an AIX environment. Experience with Data Guard in an AIX environment. Experience with Grid Control in an AIX environment. Experience with GoldenGate for Active‑Active Replication in an AIX environment. General experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or later on Windows Server 2008 (or Windows 7) or later. Experience with shell scripting, including creating cron jobs. Experience programming and querying data in PL/SQL and T‑SQL. Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related field.
