Requirements

• Valid driver's license

Scope of Work

This position is based in Lawrence, Kansas and requires travel throughout the state of Kansas to support environmental investigation and groundwater monitoring projects. The successful candidate will assist drill crews in the installation, maintenance, sampling, and abandonment of environmental monitoring wells used for regulatory and environmental assessment purposes.

Daily responsibilities may include assisting drilling operations, installing and replacing 2x2 concrete well pads, purging and pumping wells manually or with electric pumps, collecting groundwater samples, repairing well casings, operating a bobcat/skid steer, transporting and disposing of drill cuttings and contaminated soils, and performing well abandonment procedures. Employees must maintain strict adherence to KDHE standards, perform equipment decontamination procedures, prevent cross-contamination between boreholes, and accurately document field activities using an iPad.

The company provides work trucks, pays for hotel accommodations, and offers a $40/day per diem for overnight travel. Experience with hollow stem augers, drilling equipment, soil probing equipment, or environmental field services is highly desirable.
