Legal Specialist Senior

Legal Specialist Senior Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 day per week, fostering collaboration while providing flexibility for productivity and work-life balance. Alternate locations may be considered if within commuting distance from an office. The Legal Specialist Senior is responsible for providing legal support for provider contract negotiations in multiple states for our affiliated health plans and behavioral health management company across all lines of business (commercial, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage) as well as legal support for enterprise-wide or complex projects requiring specialized knowledge. How you will make an impact: Review, analyze, and research to support negotiations for provider contracting under supervision of an attorney. Draft contract templates, amendments, and alternate language for provider agreements. File provider contract templates with state regulators. Serve as a seasoned resource, lead and coach other support staff. Prepare and evaluate legal documentation to resolve problems, close transactions, and maintain good corporate governance. Conduct legal research and analysis, recommending appropriate course of action and next steps. Perform fact checking, gather documents, research and respond to subpoenas, record requests, and inquiries from internal and external sources. Monitor state and federal legislation affecting the corporation and implement recommendations relative to regulatory changes. Apply business knowledge and technical expertise to optimize solutions and improve practices. Participate in projects and negotiate and strategize with business and staff. Enter information into appropriate databases or document management systems. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent and a Paralegal Certification or an AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of legal or related experience; or any combination of education and experience providing an equivalent background. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences Provider contracting experience. Experience in managed care or healthcare industry. A law degree is desirable but not required. Salary Salary range for this specific position is $41.89/hr to $62.83/hr for candidates working in person or virtually in the following locations: Virginia.
