Overview: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Nurses work 12-hour shifts 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am with rotational weekends. Our unit offers numerous learning opportunities, providing a strong foundation in nursing and clinical skills. We handle both chronic and acute diseases, balancing telemetry, and cardiac care. Our patients present with multi-system needs, including chest pain, heart failure, dysrhythmias, sepsis, infectious disease, wound management, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, gastrointestinal conditions and more. We also care for patients requiring surgical interventions such as cath lab procedures, angiograms, EGD, colonoscopy, and anticoagulation therapies. Why Mercy?
