School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Westerly, Rhode Island

Step into a dynamic role supporting early learners as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist in a contract position for the 2026-2027 academic year, running from September 8th to June 18th. This opportunity offers a consistent, part-time schedule of two days per week and focuses largely on Pre-K students, with additional caseloads up to 8th grade.


Leverage your expertise to make a real difference in the lives of students by utilizing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) technology and supporting learners with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). You'll collaborate with educational teams, work directly with students to foster communication skills, and help create a vibrant, inclusive environment.


Qualifications and Experience Sought:

• Valid certification in Speech-Language Pathology - SLP-CCC required
• Direct school-based SLP experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge and use of AAC devices
• Proven ability to support students on the autism spectrum
• Comfortable managing a caseload spanning Pre-K through 8th grade, with emphasis on early childhood

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted speech and language therapy, primarily with PK students
• Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized intervention plans
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to optimize support and carryover
• Document student progress and maintain compliance with school and state guidelines
• Provide expertise and training on AAC devices for staff and caregivers
