Night Shift Industrial Maintenance MechanicEvaluation Hire $25-30/hr Mon-Fri: 5 PM – 5 AM, also working most Saturdays.Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently hiring for a night shift industrial maintenance mechanic position. This role requires hands-on work with mechanical, electrical, and structural systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. The technician supports production by minimizing downtime, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting in various repair and improvement projects.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery, including kettles, hoists, conveyors, and other galvanizing equipment.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.Assist with the inspection and upkeep of safety equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with OSHA and facility safety standards.Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of cooling towers, dust collectors (baghouse), and exhaust systems.Replace worn or broken parts such as belts, chains, motors, bearings, and valves.Support welding, torch cutting, pipe threading, and general fabrication as needed.Perform minor carpentry, painting, and structural repairs throughout the facility.Operate power tools and industrial machinery, including grinders, saws, forklifts, and man lifts, safely and efficiently.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS or other systems.Assist with the packaging and handling of materials, including the use of shrink wrappers and building custom crates or pallets.Conduct fire watch duties during hot work operations outside designated safe zones.Keep maintenance areas and the production floor clean, organized, and free of hazards.Collaborate with other departments to support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.Follow all company policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined space, and PPE requirements.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training is preferred.2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a metal finishing or galvanizing environment.Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical troubleshooting.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Able to work in hot, noisy, and physically demanding environments.Ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces when required.Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or shifts as needed.Benefits Once Hired On401k matchingHealth insurancePaid holidaysFuture production payExpress Employment Professionals offers a range of job opportunities.
