Opportunity The Employee Benefits Account Manager provides critical support to clients through day‑to‑day program oversight, client advocacy, and systems management, ensuring effective administration of health and welfare programs. Duties & Responsibilities Manages all aspects of the account‑service process and works closely with producers and HUB personnel on client service, marketing, and renewal, following HUB’s best practices. Acquires an understanding of clients’ business and insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability. Establishes and maintains strong business relationships with clients and insurance carriers, serving as the primary point of contact for eligibility, claims, billing, and benefit administration inquiries. Maintains accurate account files, documents conversations, and updates HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems to ensure data accuracy. Stays current on industry changes, recommends appropriate client solutions, and attends continuing education training and courses. Updates open‑enrollment packets, including benefits, rates, COBRA forms, written plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and 5500 filings on an annual basis. Submits BOR letters to carriers, follows up for contracts and renewals, and participates in carrier/vendor program implementations. Prepares quotes, proposals, and presentations for renewal, open enrollment, and post‑renewal debriefs. Leads implementation of new and renewal plans or programs, and facilitates HRIS and system updates across platforms such as Ease, ADP, and Paylocity. Reviews contracts line‑by‑line, initiates vendor payments, and assists producers in developing and implementing client benefits strategies, including financial analysis, benchmarking, and funding alternatives. Assists clients with billing issues, auditing, and reconciliation, and prepares annual legal notices. Performs additional duties and projects as assigned to support HUB business objectives. Qualifications High School Diploma / GED; college degree strongly preferred. 3–5 years of benefit insurance related experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent education and experience. Life & Health license or willingness to obtain within three months. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Effective oral and written communication with internal and external customers. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public. Critical thinking to evaluate alternative solutions and make informed recommendations. Customer focus, solicit feedback, and handle difficult or emotional situations promptly. Confidence and demeanor to interact at all organizational levels. Teamwork, coaching, and collaboration with insurance and service vendors. Problem‑solving skills to analyze complex issues and implement solutions. Prioritization and organization to complete assignments on time with accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and agency management systems. Mathematical skills to calculate discounts, commissions, and percentages. Working Conditions & Physical Demands The role is predominantly stationary, involving frequent communication with colleagues and clients in person and by telephone. The employee regularly uses a computer and standard office equipment, sometimes moving within the office to access file cabinets or office machinery.
