Transportation Engineer

T3 Design Corporation is seeking a highly qualified Engineer to use their problem‑solving skills to determine and design solutions to real‑world transportation issues. Under the direction and supervision of a Project Manager, provide technical support in the planning, development and design of transportation projects. Responsibilities and Duties Plan and lead or perform routine field surveys photographing, recording data and making diagrams of infrastructure and roadways Collect data on road geometry, land development, and traffic Perform calculations using engineering skills for development of design and studies Use specialized computer software to analyze and model data and create alternatives Research design options and document findings Assist with organizing and maintaining project files Follow agency and T3 design standards Assist in writing reports for engineering studies, by using T3 standards Create figures and tables for inclusion in study reports Use engineering drawing software for plan development and design Use engineering analysis software to perform analysis tasks Support the preparation of design computations and quantity estimates Occasional field work and exposure to weather Perform other related work, as assigned or apparent Supervisory Responsibilities May supervise data collection efforts. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong program solving skills and critical thinking Strong oral and written communication skills Strong time management and interpersonal skills Basic (at a minimum) knowledge of software such as Microstation, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS, as well as Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, and SIDRA. Physically able to walk up to 2 miles. Education, Training and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering bachelor’s or related field 0-4 years of experience in civil/transportation engineering EIT required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire Additional Requirements Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
