ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including the following but are not limited to):

• Experience working with adults with I/DD preferred, or experience treating individuals with physical, cognitive, and/or psychological ailments
• Timely completion of daily notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries
• Coordinating with occupational therapist(s) to adapt and/or modify the course of treatment as indicated
• Communicate with supports coordinator to promote implementation of recommendations in home and community settings
• Educate staff on recommendations to be performed outside of therapy sessions
• Adheres to DDD guidelines for habilitative therapy services
• Follows directives from supervising Occupational Therapist(s) and Clinical Director
• Maintain accurate records of daily notes, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards
• Work with healthcare providers to ensure effective client care and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Degree from an Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution
• Valid NJ state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred; ideally with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (special needs)
• Strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives
• Experience with Foothold AWARDS preferred
