Combi Lift Operator

We are seeking a dedicated Combi Lift Operator who will be actively operating a unique side-loading forklift known as the Combilift 12K Lb Forklift. The role involves offloading flatbed trucks and rail cars, with the added comfort of lifts equipped with heaters and AC. Candidates will frequently use computer terminals for order picking tasks from within the Combi lift.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Combilift 12K Lb Forklift to offload flatbed trucks and rail cars.
• Utilize strong computer skills to manage order pick systems on computer terminals located inside each Combi lift.
• Scan barcodes on wood products, apply new labels, and assign products to bin areas directly from the Combi lift.
• Engage in material handling, inventory management, and general labor tasks.
• Perform manual labor for 55-60% of the workday.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, as part of a lumber yard environment.

Essential Skills

• At least one year of experience with a sit-down forklift or Combi lift.
• Minimum two years of experience in order selecting using a scan gun or proficiency with a computer system.
• High school diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with wood products or a construction background is preferred.
• Experience with RF scanning or SAP and a willingness to learn forklift operation.
• SAP or Warehouse Management System experience.

Work Environment

The role is based in a wood products distribution company with both open-air facilities and an open yard. The work is largely outdoors in a lumber yard, involving exposure to rainy conditions. The team currently consists of six warehouse associates, with plans to expand by two more. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
