Job Description - Clinical Support Assistant - Bone Marrow Transplant (2603679) Clinical Support Assistant - Bone Marrow Transplant Position Summary At Stony Brook Medicine, a TH Staff Assistant is a valuable member of our team, who provides administrative and executive support and has the ability to interface with all levels of management throughout the hospital. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior communication and organization skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence. Duties Obtaining insurance authorizations for office procedures and imaging testing (MRI,PET/CT CT scans etc.) and other special patient needs. May also be requiredto obtain referrals as needed. Assists MD's, PA's and NP's in obtaining and scheduling consultations with otherhospital services. Will become proficient with all necessary computer applications required in jobperformance i.e. Cerner power chart, Eclipsys, Patient Keeper, Excel etc. Complete special projects as assigned. Performs administrative support duties for assigned MD's, PA's and NP's. Answers telephone calls and distributes messages in a timely manner. Adheres to HIPPA standards in keeping patient's confidentiality and personalinformation. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Associate degree and at least 1 year of medical office setting experience. Professional phone skills. Ability to prioritize and work independently. Computer proficiency with Microsoft applications. Preferred Qualifications Experience with insurance authorizations for medical procedures. This range reflects Stony Brook University Hospital’s good faith and reasonable estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate’s verified years of relevant, comparable experience.
