Mechanical Engineer

Pay Range: $52.83hr - $57.83hr

The Mechanical Engineer will support manufacturing operations by developing and maintaining CNC programs and providing technical support to machining processes.

The role focuses on CNC programming, process optimization, tooling support, and troubleshooting activities for advanced machining operations including multi axis milling and precision drilling processes.

The candidate will collaborate with manufacturing engineers and shop floor operators to improve machining processes, enhance production efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirement/Must Have:

• Experience generating CNC programs using graphical based CAM systems.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes including milling, turning, and drilling.
• Ability to support CNC operations with troubleshooting and programming assistance.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Experience:

• Minimum three years of experience with graphical based CAM system CNC programming with a technical degree or apprenticeship background.
• Minimum six years of experience with CNC programming with a high school diploma.
• Experience working with CNC verification or simulation software is preferred.
• Experience machining advanced materials used in aerospace or high temperature environments is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Generate and maintain CNC programs using CAM software for machining operations.
• Support machining processes including multi axis milling, turning, grinding, and EDM drilling.
• Verify CNC programs prior to shop floor release using machine simulation tools.
• Provide CNC related technical support to manufacturing engineers and machine operators.
• Support new machine startups and provide operator training when required.
• Troubleshoot CNC programs and machining issues on the shop floor.
• Support tooling and fixturing requirements associated with CNC machine tools.
• Develop workstation instructions and documentation related to CNC processes.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Communicate technical information effectively with cross functional teams.
• Work collaboratively in a team based manufacturing environment while supporting operational improvements.

• CNC programming using graphical CAM systems.
• Multi axis machining and drilling processes.
• CNC verification and machine simulation tools.
• Toolpath generation and machining optimization.
• Shop mathematics including geometry and trigonometry.
• Experience working with different CNC machine control systems.

Qualification And Education:

• Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or technical apprenticeship in engineering, machining, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Machine Tool Technology is preferred.
