The Work This position is for a Deputy Technical Director within the Ground Based Air Surveillance Radar Chief Engineering organization. Responsibilities include ensuring that the radar system architecture meets program requirements; developing modifications to existing products to meet unique customer needs; supporting and leading development of next‑generation products within this market segment; leading the oversight of technical work products developed by the larger engineering team; supporting design reviews and integration and test activities as needed; supporting capture activities, including RFI/RFP preparation, customer presentations, and live demonstrations; conducting competitor analysis; leading formal customer sell‑off events; and troubleshooting fielded radar systems. In addition, the role requires maintaining knowledge of current and developing technologies, developing strategies for their insertion into legacy and next‑generation radar systems, and presenting to customers and senior management, tailoring the material based on the audience. This role will require some international and domestic travel. Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 9 years of professional engineering experience Knowledge of Radar theory Experience working with and/or designing radar systems Experience with MATLAB Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance (requires US Citizenship) Desired Skills Master's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline Radar waveform/template design Understanding of radar signal processing algorithms Radar system performance modeling Radar system integration and test experience Domestic and International customer experience Requirements analysis and definition Understanding of the RF/Analog, Digital, and Software building blocks of a radar system Effective presentation and communication skills Ability to operate as the program engineering POC for Customers, Senior Leadership and the Program Office in a mentored environment Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely Part‑time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their schedule remotely and part at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed. Work Schedules Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while other may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week Pay Rate The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $118,700 - $209,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location. The annual base salary range in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts and New York is $136,500 - $236,555. The salary information is a general guideline.
